It's Not What I Said, It's What Tumblr Said
These are things you have said that I decided to write down. Why? Because you said it well. Or you said horribly, either way I figured it was worth repeating and then saving it for future use.
All quotes on this page do not reflect my own opinion, that is the reason they are listed as quotes. To quote the person it came from. All commentary on the quotes, however, well, that is my opinion. Those opinions are often cynical, sarcastic and always funny...to me. Possibly you? Please do not take offense to them.
Questions, comments, complaints, bored with no one to listen to you talk...or for any non-mentioned reason, contact me via tumblrsaid at gmail.com

Fundamentalist ideals no longer have to be a part of what we stand for whether it be race, religion, or social standing.

I listen to my grandmother and my father speak about the world — about “us” and “them”. I don’t want to face the world that way. I don’t want to be aligned with that way of thinking.

Would you want a doctor operating on you, who is just doing this for the money until they figure out what they really want to do with their life? We’re not talking about a haircut, or a dinner. We’re talking about our children s education.

Get teaching certification and teach for a year in America?

Today felt like a collection of races. A race to work this morning. Race from meeting to meeting in the morning. Speedy pit stop to eat lunch. Resume races between meetings in the afternoon. Race from work to the dry cleaner before it closed at 7p.

It isn’t that I am an “LA Guy” and it isnt moving to LA that “changed” me. It was the hard work and effort of living truly on your own and being your own man out in the real world; living in a place that you are not familiar with. It is a result of actual productive growth, and it is healthy. It is normal to look at where you have been, and if that place is a bad one, then it is also normal to feel like you need to distance yourself from anything that reminds you of that place or feeling…. Raging against this idea of comfort taking precedence to anything is how I survived; how I kept myself from being assimilated. How I stayed me. It is how I vent and deal with the emotions I still have from the miserable 20+ years I spent growing up there. I don’t ever want to live in suburbia again.
